S&A offer an in-house service incorporating design, drawing, fabrication, shot-blasting, painting and erection of structural steelwork and cladding. We also design and erect secondary steelwork and fabricate steel for many uses.
S&A work constantly in the commercial sector for both end users and main contractors, producing simple steelwork or full projects depending on our client’s demands. We undertake design and build projects, as well as work where the design is supplied to us.
For end users, speaking with our team as quickly as you can on your project, will be key to success. We can work with you to develop your scheme from the initial planning phase, through to completion, we also advise along the way on regulations and bring in experts as and when required.
S&A can offer a full design and build service, value engineering, design, cost planning and material procurement to optimise design and reduce manufacture and supply costs.
Our Barnard Castle based drawing team utilise CAD and Tekla 3D modelling systems, to allow them to easily share information with clients and architects.
The drawing team also undertake all site survey work, which is critical as they actually see the real site rather than being purely office based and relying on information from others.
The drawing team will produce planning drawings and then design and detail work, taking ownership of a project so our clients have one port of call whilst work is ongoing.
Individual component drawings are automatically produced from computer generated data and are downloaded directly to our buying department and CNC production facility.
Value Engineering
S&A can offer a complete design service, or assist with adding value to existing designs. Using our years of in-house experience we aim to have a positive impact on your project. The earlier we are involved the better the chance of beneficial input.
As a designer, manufacturer and erector of steel framed buildings, we have a vast experience of different projects and different designs and feel we can bring our experience to a project to reduce cost and make site time more efficient.
At S&A we offer a planning service where we can deal with your local authority to hopefully make the planning process easier for you. We will complete the drawings, fill in the forms and supply the necessary written statements before finally submitting the application on your behalf.*
We hope to ease the burden of the planning process and aim to offer some practical advice in doing so. Please note we do not undertake building regs but have specialists who we can introduce you to, who can undertake this section of work.
