About Us

Simpson and Allinson was founded in May 1978 by Geoff Simpson and John Allinson who still work in the business today and are now the proud directors of a large group of companies with activities throughout the UK and worldwide, whilst retaining their close relationship with their local community in Co Durham.

From their humble beginnings starting out on a farm at Winston near Barnard Castle, the S&A Group operates today from a purpose built site in Barnard Castle where the team of 50 employees manufacture and sell steel framed buildings and control a chain of builders merchants. More recently S&A have won accolades and national recognition with the design and manufacture of The Roundhouse, a unique and refreshing change to livestock housing.

At S&A we are firm believers of the fact that the staff make the business and both Geoff and John are committed to investing in the people that make the business work and grow and the company is accredited to the National Investors in People standard. This commitment and belief has been rewarded over the years with the dedication show by staff and the way they have grown and developed with the business.

As well as Geoff and John being a part of the business for over 30 years we have a significant part of our workforce who have in excess of 20 years service with S&A.
